Eating at the Bull’s Head

The Bulls Head is a very relaxed, quintessentially English village pub that lives true to its ‘Local and Proud’ motto. All the food is prepared freshly each day, by Andy and his team, for its seasonal menu most famous for the Steak and ‘Wobbly Ale’ Pie, handmade and baked fresh every day (except Sunday) within our tiny kitchen. Our Fresh haddock and fresh chips from Massey’s farm are delivered daily for our classic Local Ale Battered Haddock and Chips with ‘not so mushy’ peas. Our roast beef on Sundays is 28 day aged prime Sirloin with all the trimmings and our Seafood Trawler Board and our Pub plate are great for sharing with friends so click here for our menus….

Whats Happening at the Bulls Head?

Throughout the year we bring you some exceptional ‘Food and Drink Weeks’ from our Cask Ale and Pie Week to our now legendary ‘Irish Week’ to name but two. We also have our Village Fete Day in August and Rose Queen Festival in June. There’s Lord Ted’s Pub Quiz in the cooler months of September to April inclusive and our ‘house band’, Dave and Howard, bringing you great music sessions to eat and drink to. Have a look here at what is coming up over the coming weeks here at the Bulls Head

The Bulls Head Car Clubs

Since 2011 the Bulls Head has had two of its very own car clubs. The first is the 3P or Porsche. Pub and Pint Club. One has to own a Porsche to be a member of this now famous club. With over 50 members one can join the 3P Club simply by parking their Porsche outside the Bulls Head and taking a photo and sending it to info@thebullsheadpub.co.uk

Our second car club is the ‘Good Fellows’ which was set up to rival the 3P club and features any car that isn’t a Porsche! Good Fellows can join in exactly the same way by sending in a photo of their cherished car outside the Bulls Head. Members get a Mug and Car Sticker and are invited to car events through the ‘Car Season’ April until October inclusive. So join today!

On the Bar at The Bulls Head

The Bulls Head has always recognised the great efforts of Cheshire micro-brewers from the very day the pub re-opened its doors back in 2010 after significant restoration works by owners Mary and Tim. The pub is renowned for its Mobberley Wobbly Ale brewed in Cheshire which was thought to have aphrodisiac qualities within the recipe. For this reason the Bulls Head has always paid 10p a pint penance to St.Wilfrid’s Church in the village. Our ‘man of the froth’ the Reverend Ian Blay arrives once a year….tastes the beer to ensure the recipe is the same and picks up the penance and happily returns up the hill to put the penance to good use within the Parish. Steph our landlady not only looks after the ale but has one of the best selections of Irish Whiskies in the country (over 100 whiskies of all types) and her Craft Gins so there is a lot going on and we enjoy puzzling our guests with great choice.

‘VisitEngland’, along with the other tourist organisations of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the UK government, have launched a new industry standard mark as a way of supporting tourism businesses and providing reassurance to visitors. The industry standard is a way of letting our customers and guests know which businesses have made necessary changes to their day-to-day workings, including social distancing measures and staff training. We are good to go!
